Creating Characters - What’s your method?

After spending most of my life wanting to be a published author, how I am feeling now that I’ve accomplished my goal? The answer isn’t as black and white as I thought it would be.

The Urban Dictionary defines Fanfiction as someone takes a story or characters from a novel, show, movie, etc…and creates their own story.

Trope (according to Merriam-Webster) is a common or overused theme or device. For example, in horror movies, the first noise in the attic was just the cat or it’s a jumpscare but not the killer/real villain. Here are a few common romance tropes that I’m familiar with. This is not a comprehensive list as tropes are always changing.

If you like romance novels or novellas you’ve likely heard the term “spicy” to describe particular books. If not well…I guess the time has come.

Whenever the question was asked, “What do you want to be when you grow up?” Amid my classmates’ answers of: fireman, teacher, mommy, race car driver, and veterinarian, there always came my unwavering answer - Writer.
